The annual tournament between the three schools (Colonia, Woodbridge, and JFK) is not like an average tournament that is competed throughout the year. This tournament is not only an individual tournament but a ‘baker’ tournament as well. Colonia was victorious in defeat the rivals in the baker tournament but fell short in the individual competition.
In a ‘baker’ style tournament, the boys’ and girls’ team combine. Five of the players are selected for each team and compete together. Each bowling will only bowl one frame, after the first five frames are completed then it is at the top of the order again.
Woodbridge, Kennedy, and Colonia all competed in this round of competition first. But with the power behind Colonia, no one was going to beat them. With their consistent 203 games throughout the day, Colonia easily takes the win.
Unfortunately, Colonia could not keep the momentum going for the individual tournament. The highest ranked for Colonia was fourth place from captain Brandon Wilczynski. He shows that no matter what, Colonia is still a strong team. They held their own against high competitors.
The team has their ups and downs all day long, but they stayed together throughout it all. They had a positive attitude and had smiles on their face throughout. Although they were focused on the competition, they still had fun bowling. In the end, win or lose, making memories with your team is the most important thing.
